Role: HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic

Location: Witham, CM8 3TH

Hours: 45 hours per week | between 07:15 and 16:45 Monday to Friday 

 

Are you a skilled and dedicated HGV Technician looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference? We have an engaging role for you at Dennis Eagle! As an HGV Technician, you'll maintain and repair refuse collection vehicles, ensuring high-quality work and excellent customer service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Vehicle Repair: Diagnose faults on chassis and mounted equipment, conduct repairs and servicing to VOSA standards, and prepare vehicles for MOT inspections.
  • Compliance: Ensure repairs comply with Department of Transport specifications and company standards.
  • Job Management: Work at customer and Company premises, liaise professionally with customers, and maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Quality & Customer Satisfaction: Comply with ISO9001 procedures, maintain high-quality work, and provide excellent service to customers.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety procedures, conduct risk assessments, and use appropriate PPE.

What We're Looking For:

  • Essential: Knowledge of commercial vehicle repair and servicing, understanding of vehicle technology systems, compliance and health & safety requirements, previous experience in a similar role, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance, proven diagnostic and fault-finding skills, understanding of electronics and hydraulics, ability to read wiring diagrams, computer literacy, and customer service skills.
  • Desirable: Experience with RCVs or electric vehicles, HGV class 2 licence, training in Volvo Tech Tool, Allison transmission, IRTEC, ability to cover a callout rota, and willingness to travel throughout the UK.
