Your team: You will become part of our data team at Terberg Group, which includes a data manager, platform engineers, analytics engineers, and other data professionals. As we are at a pivotal moment in our data journey, we are actively expanding the team. The aim of the team is to optimize our company’s processes and achieve added value business goals through the effective use of data and cloud technologies.

Your role: As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the Azure-based infrastructure that supports our data platform and digital services. With your expertise in cloud architecture, automation, and security, you will help us scale our platform, improve performance, and ensure operational excellence.

You will work on infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and cost optimization, while collaborating closely with Platform Lead, Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, and other data professionals. You will report to the Group Data Manager and play a key role in shaping our cloud landscape. 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Cloud infrastructure development: Build and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective Azure infrastructure to support data and digital workloads. You will ensure that the infrastructure is aligned with architectural standards and can evolve with future business needs. 
  1. Automation and deployment: Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code using tools like Azure DevOps, Bicep, or Terraform. You will help streamline deployment processes and reduce manual intervention through automation.
  1. Monitoring and optimization: Ensure high availability and performance of cloud services through proactive monitoring, logging, and cost management. You will analyze usage patterns and implement improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
  1. Security and compliance: Implement best practices for identity, access management, and data protection in line with governance policies. You will also contribute to audits and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

  2. Collaboration: Work in multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions that align with business needs and technical strategy. You will act as a bridge between Data Platform, Network and Identity teams, and other IT and business stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery of a secure and effective cloud platform. 

Required Skills and Expertise:
We value curiosity and the ability to learn new techniques more than having the perfect experience for what we need today.

Must have:

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and core services (e.g., ADF, Synapse, Key Vault, Azure Monitor)
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Bicep, Terraform, ARM templates)
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation using Azure DevOps or GitHub
  • Understanding of cloud security, networking, and identity management
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python
  • Have experience with Azure CAF (Cloud Adoption Framework)
  • Knowledge about observability and monitoring critical infrastructure
  • Experience in making sure cloud services are highly available for downstream users 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with data platform tools (e.g., Databricks, Fabric, APIs)
  • Experience working in agile environments and using Azure DevOps
  • Experience with ERP systems or manufacturing industry
